Presto — Pesto!

I love pesto so I grow basil.  It can’t grow fast enough!

I found this recipe in the St. Pete Times, back before it turned into the Tampa Bay Times.  I changed a few things.  Like they called for pine nuts.  Those things are incredibly expensive.  Or maybe it’s just because we live in far, far away and they have to charge us extra.  But I like it with the walnuts.  Especially toasted.  I always toast walnuts before I use them in any recipe.

  1. Great – I’ll have to try that one. I agree, pine nuts are pricey. I get the Badia brand in the seasoning section (not with the nuts). I also keep them in the fridge or freezer (after opening), since they go bad before I need them again.
