Treasure Hunting at Renninger’s Antique and Collectibles Extravaganza

Friday I went treasure hunting at Renninger’s Antique and Collectibles Extravaganza along with my treasure hunting buddies, Kathryn, Connie and Michelle.  We had SO much FUN.  And found so many treasures!

Glass Mosaic
This really isn’t a photo of Connie. I’m actually taking a pic of those beautiful glass mosaics behind her! Last year one of the vendors got really angry when I took a picture of her display so now I always have a decoy!

Magic Fork
Here’s Michelle searching for the magic fork!

And so many vendors.  Can’t even show you how many are set up.

And here are my treasures!

My Treasures from Renningers
Tray, cheese grater, hand, cake plate, hanging fish candle, franz platter

And why did I want these items?  First, I always look for cheap trays.  This one was five bucks.  We needed a good old-old fashioned cheese grater–all the “new” ones we’ve bought have broke in short order.  You might not think I need another white cake pedestal, but now I can actually give Jessica the one I bought her three years ago!  The hanging fish candle was so cool I had to trample Connie after she showed it to me so I could buy it first!  And the Franz platter in the front….

Franz platter
Already had the porcelain vase! I got the platter for HALF of what I paid for the vase! Best buy for me!

Intricate and Beautiful Details

And very last, I ALMOST bought a hand last year and regretted passing it up for an ENTIRE YEAR!  But that one was green and this one is perfect!

I bought the cobalt blue tray for my jewelry several years ago at Renninger’s.

Tomorrow we’ll look at Connie, Kathryn, and Michelles’ finds!

    • It was a great day. The vase was an impulse buy in Galveston. It’s not typical of my style and I seldom buy anything that’s not on sale. So I couldn’t pass up the platter! Especially at a good price–almost made up for spending too much on the vase!
