Whiskey is visiting with her parents from DC. She is quite fascinated by the squirrels!

Friday Meanderings

We finally have the Homosassa Mullet Toss and Spring Festival Flyer. Yippee!

mullet toss

The women that are organizing this event are AMAZING! They have reached out to SO many sponsors and groups for support. And this will be a ton of fun. I personally will not be tossing any dead fish. I’ll be taking snaps and running the t-shirt booth. Stop by and say hi! By the way, the shirts will be what I call “dri-fit” but are now being called “swim” shirts. Anyhow, they are the kind you go fishing with and will be long sleeved. And the color will be very bright so when you are out scalloping, you will be seen!

More to be revealed as the next few weeks go by!

Took another road trip on Wednesday. To Tampa. To Ikea. I wanted to get some nightstands and Ikea always has stuff in stock. Unless you are in a pandemic. Cause either everyone is buying furniture for their new second homes or the factories are shut down. Same story with boats and boat trailers. Scheesh. But I did have a nice lunch with son Darin so there was that!

And we drove through Brooksville and we had the truck (to carry our nonexistent Ikea treasures in) and I said “hey we are going right by that place that has the concrete stuff”. And I finally got my third bird bath. Or rodent watering hole. Or squirrel trough.

Here it is on Wednesday….

And by Thursday this little mama had found it!

I have to admit that I feel a certain responsibility for watering the critters. We’ve had no rain thus far in April and March was also a dry month. Where are the rodents getting drinking water?

Right here in my yard!

Have a great weekend!
