I have to be totally honest and say that we passed up all those deep fried nuggets of goodness.  We rode our bikes over to Shelley’s Seafood and bought a pound of grouper.  Coated it with panko, threw it on the grill.  Salad, rice, and green beans from my garden as sides.  Can not even show you in pics how good that was!

So to make the weekend even better, MacRae’s booked Sarasota Slim for Saturday night and Sunday.   One of our all time favorite bands.  We pedaled our bikes down there on Sunday afternoon.  And I had one or two or maybe more beers….

Seriously, does it get any better than this?  80 degrees.  On the Water.  Enjoying the band and people watching.  And also checking out the wheels.

And this is why we live in Old Homosassa!

It’s the Weekend Already!

Happy Friday!  Another beautiful weekend has arrived!

We’ve started the “Quest for the Ultimate Chicken Wing” again.  Hit a restaurant last week and we’re off to another local place today.  Diet all week, blow it on Friday with wings.

Then there’s the Homosassa Seafood, Art and Craft Festival all weekend.  Seriously, you can smell the deep fat fryers on our front porch!  Ahhh, deep-fried nuggets of goodness from the sea.

Next weekend is the annual Renninger’s Antique and Collectible’s Extravaganza.  I’ve been attending this for couple of decades.  Michelle and I plus a few other friends will be in the big SUV and on our way in the wee hours of the morning in search of treasures.  I’m sure we’ll tell you all about it when we get back!

And the last announcement, Maggie is sick.  OH NO!  She’s had three major medical crises in her nearly 14 years.  The first was when we lived far far away and she was four years old. We left her at the kennel and returned to find her emaciated and on death’s doorstep.  And the kennel was at her Vet’s office!  Bad doctor.

The second was when she decided to chase a pitbull out of her backyard.  Dumb idea, Maggie.

And now the third is pancreatitis.  We just spent the entire Christmas budget getting her blood tests, x-rays, and medication.  Poor poor Maggie.  For almost 14 years she has enjoyed eating people food.  No more.  Now she’s on a tasteless lo-fat veterinarian  approved stinky canned food diet.  No more treats.  No more lasagna for dinner. No more BK with her best friend.  But she’s alive!

Poor Poor Maggie, suffering from

Have a great weekend!

Office Renovation

This was my office/sewing room/piano room before we did some furniture moving last month. My former office/piano room/sewing room

Just kidding.  That room never looked like that.  I must have been expecting a visit from the Queen when I took that picture.  Where’s my sewing machine?  And all the stuff that goes with it?

I’m not going to show you a pic of what it really looks like 98% of the time.  Especially now.  You know all that stuff we moved out of the former dining room?  Oh yeah, it’s in my former office/sewing room/piano room that is currently the dump room.

But hope is on the horizon!  The music room is completed and beautiful.  Very happy with all that.  And we’re moving onto my new office/sewing room.  And it will be very organized and pretty.  My two requirements for working happy!

We’ve already started to get that room under control. First, Terry pulled out a couple of old shelves from the attic that I had used in a former house.  Kept them just in case.  Hit them with a couple cans of spray paint, added some cool brackets.  Storage for pretty things!

Shelves in Office

Terry made the bottom shelf for candles in our master bathroom when we remodeled it.  But the white was a little too shiny against the tub and didn’t match the frames that we had already hung.  So he made another one that I painted to match the bathroom walls.  So I tucked the shiny white shelf away for another day.

And that’s today!

And now we have to have a little bit of pinspiration….

Ribbon Holder

This idea is from The Cottage Mama.   I keep all my sewing supplies in appropriately marked lidded baskets but still forget exactly what is in there–especially ribbons and trims. So I showed this pin to Terry and he said he could do it!

My skill set does not include tools nor do I know what they are even called. So I’m showing the steps in pics as Terry does the work–except for the painting–I do know what a spray can is!Supplies for Ribon Holder

Probably need to get some more since I have a place to store them!
