Happy Almost Memorial Day!

Lots of people and boats coming into Old Homosassa to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Looks like all the VRBOs are full despite the state not letting them reopen yet. We won’t be on the water this weekend. Every weekend in April and May its been like scalloping season. Way too many boats in way too small of an area!

I didn’t post last week because I just had NOTHING to talk about! But I’m back with pics. And maybe a few words.

So I have a butterfly garden. Actually three.

But not many butterflies. I get monarch caterpillars on the milkweed but I think the red wasps eat them. Have not seen any swallowtail caterpillars on the parsley although I plant a bunch of it just for them.

There was one little monarch butterfly that would not hold still. I’ve been stalking it for two days and it just flitters about. I think it must just be a very happy butterfly. This is the one and only time it did settle down for a moment. And then it flittered off again.

I have five of these hamilia bushes. But the zebra longwings only like this one. I can always find one or two there.

Lizards are everywhere. And seem to like their pics snapped. They always pose for me.

And here are some birds…

This one is probably eyeing that lizard!

Plumeria. The yellows are always the first to bloom.

May Day. In our new and better world.

Just kidding.

Not really. Pollution is down. Gas prices are down. Oh yeah, so is the Dow Jones.

I watch the news. Not really. I glance at the news. They are guessing. Just like you and me. I did like that Brad Pitt played Dr. Fauci on Saturday Night Live. Oh wait. That’s not really news. Ahhhh. Geeze. Is anything real news?

Anyhow. Here is my reality. Florida is opening up. Not completely. Terry can not get his hair cut. We can go out to eat. But. We will not be sitting in any restaurant right now. We will continue pickup. And we are meeting with our friends. Six feet apart. Sometimes in the driveway.

I miss my kids. When will I get to see them? Washington DC and North Dakota. I don’t want to fly. Driving. Are there restrooms? Where do we stay? Do we have to sterilize the hotel rooms? When we get there, do we have to be in 2 weeks of quarantine?

On another note. The weather is amazing. Manatee love is going on in our canal. Those huge slow moving creatures are very FAST during the spring.

And the DOG of the WEEK!

MARTINI

And the “Creature that Invades our Bird Feeders” of the week

And some pretty pictures.
