Florida Peaches

Florida has always been known for its oranges and more recently farmers are getting into blueberry farming.  Will the next big crop by peaches?

This is a photo of peaches on Michelle’s tree that she just sent me.  She says that they are just the size of walnuts right now.

Wee PeachesShe also sent along these peach blossom pictures from February 2013.  Lovely.

Next picture should be pie.  If I would just stay home long enough to make one!

The Hummingbird Feeder

and those that it feeds….

Baltimore Oriole
A Baltimore Oriole! First one we’ve ever seen. Doesn’t it know that this is Tampa Bay Rays territory?

Our Audubon friend, Vera, said that the only time she had a Baltimore Oriole at her house was after she put out oranges to attract them.

So I took her advice….

Damn squirrel

But the Oriole came back for the sugar water.  It is so shy that I have to take pictures of it through the window.  I even tried to just leave the sliding doors open a crack and take it’s picture but it somehow sees me and is gone before I get the camera picked up!

A Sunday AM Walk

We had a bodacious thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon.  The first time I have ever heard hail bouncing off of the sky lights.  Along with the lightening, thunder and wind, it was all very ominous. But it passed and the sun came out.

So I took my camera along for our Sunday morning walk just to see what I could see.  No storm damage as far as I could tell.

Azalaes
Azaleas in the neighbor’s yard. Glad to see that the storm didn’t knock off all the blossoms.

Great sign. I should have this sign for Maggie. No dog could be stranger than her!

Maggie knows I’m taking her picture but will NOT look at me. No treats, no Kodak moment.
