It’s always fun to drive to Ozello with it’s winding road and beautiful views. On Saturday we made the scenic drive there to check out the Ozello Arts and Crafts Festival.
Traveling through the country.
We made our annual drive to Mount Dora for the Renninger’s Antique Extravaganza on Friday. I seriously look forward to this all year long.
Although there are two more Antique Extravaganzas this season, this is the BIG ONE!
And it was crazy busy. We headed out of Homosassa at our typical time–it’s almost a 2 hour trip. Got there at 9 am. And the parking lot was already almost full! What??? I think there were a lot more men treasure hunting, too.
We walked in the gate and were greeted by this dead fox and dead damn squirrel. Knew it was going to be a day of strangeness with a heavy dose of taxidermy.
All I can think is that this antelope or antelope relative once upon a time was leaping over terrain. And now it sits with its fake eyes on some lovely wicker outdoor furniture.
Heavy sigh….
Squirrel for rent? Squirrel apartment?
A sitar! Could this be one of George Harrison’s sitars. Probably not….
More animals. This time they are concrete.
On this treasure hunt, Connie was the winner. Typically she buys tiny things. This year she filled up the back of my grammy van.
I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t find anything that “spoke” to me. Everything I bought was new stuff. Maybe I already have too many treasures????
But we had fun!
The Intrepid Treasure Hunters, Michelle, Connie and Me!
Couldn’t possibly make all the fun events that were scheduled for the weekend in the county but we did get to the Black Diamond Invitational Car Show. Over 200 cars. All arranged around a fairway. The weather was unusually warm for this time of year, but I will NEVER complain about sunshine and 80 degrees in November!
Terry and I were actually on a mini-mission. Looking for cars from 1951. Found two. Weird mission, right?
The owner of this car was really cool and happy to help us out.
Why do people insist on getting into my pictures?
This guy, not so helpful. But it was still a nice car.
There were a lot of shiny cars there. Over 200. Here’s some of my favorite.
Once again, some guy got into my photo!
Okay. This is the one I wanted to take home. Well, maybe a different color! Once again, left without a new car!
