Inverness Visit

January 30, 2021

Went to Inverness to attend the unveiling of the Female Veterans Memorial.

Here it is before the unveiling.

Female Veterans Memorial

I had planned on getting photos of the memorial after the ceremony because there were a LOT of people crowding the area. But the service went on and on and on….

We decided to get lunch. Both places we wanted to go to were closed–one looked deserted.

We drove through the new Depot District and it looks really cool. But also deserted. This was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and there were very few people around. I haven’t been on my bicycle since I fell but as soon as I’m back in the saddle, I want to go check things out again.

Small town done right seems to be having some issues!

Next stop was a place we had been to one other time several years ago. Angelo’s Italian Restaurant. We remember liking it. I would not recommend it now.

First, no one wore masks except us. The service was slow even though we were the only ones there. And then my food was boring. I ordered a chicken panini. It arrived on a sub bun. Mozzarella cheese and unseasoned chicken pieces. Not even mayonnaise. Terry said that his ham & cheese panini was good. It was actually on thick bread which is what I thought a panini is supposed to be on. And his fries were yummy. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the description didn’t say anything about plain old boring strips of chicken!

Anyhow, since we seldom dine beyond the Water Tower and I was looking forward to a nice lunch, it was a disappointment. The cafes, bars, and restaurants we have in Old Homosassa are far superior!

Don’t go past the Water Tower!
