I’ve been on vacation in North Dakota for the last few weeks and pretty much did nothing. So much fun! Terry drove most of the trip up and back–because my driving is scary. (Watch out all you locals–I’m back!) Our son Alan and daughter-in-law Lauri chauffeured us about in the SUV and on their boat while we were there. And Alan did most of the cooking–which explains me gaining five pounds. The mornings were 56 degrees, afternoons in the 80s and we dined outdoors for dinner with sweaters on. Life is good in August in North Dakota.
So when we got back Saturday afternoon I was so refreshed from my vacation I was ready to get back to my real life and make it even better. Monday morning would be a great time to just get a fresh start. I don’t know about you, but I like to begin new programs on Monday mornings. (Not ever on New Years Day–too many leftover cookies, cakes and company!) And there are so many Mondays to begin again with! On Monday morning, I feel like I can accomplish anything. Like, Get back into my exercise program! Eat healthy! Finish old projects and start new ones! Be nicer to people! Post a new article for the Chronicle Online blog! It just goes on and on and on.
Of course, those were my thoughts on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday I got a text that my friends were going “to the river” Monday morning. Yippee! Gossip! Beer! Junk food! Self-improvement can wait!
So today I’m headed to the Weeki Wachee River for a “biddy committee meeting”.
Who likes Mondays anyhow? The best fresh start morning is Tuesday–I can accomplish anything!
