Scallop Season Starts in Old Homosassa

Local Places, Local Faces

Another beautiful morning in Old Homosassa at the county boat ramp.  Scallopers trying to get their boats in and beer trucks making deliveries.   Later in the afternoon, these guys are pulling their boats out and late arrivals are trying to get in. Crazy town!

Summer Time, Part II

I mentioned yesterday that we were on the River last weekend.  We had “the girls” here for three days so left early one morning for Monkey Island!  We’ve tried this before but never can get out of the canals before the littlest is asking “When are we going home?”  But we bribed them with crackers, chips and juice boxes and not only made it to Monkey Island but actually got to the Spring!

We also saw two manatees, five dolphins, and one turtle!  A big day for us and sea creatures!
