Chassahowitzka Salt Marsh Trail

Way back in September I posted about the Chassahowitzka Salt Marsh Trail.  I had planned on getting some bird pictures from the tower to share but the biting flies were so bad we quickly headed back out to civilization.  We recently tried again on an early cold morning and the flies were gone but the lone bird we saw was an anhinga.  Guess it was too early or too cold for birds–but the views were still spectacular!

Upcoming Events

No more Al-La-Palooza to look forward to but this is the time of year that all kinds of outdoor events are going on in Florida so we’ll still be busy!  Here’s a few upcoming in Old Homosassa.

Next Saturday, November 3rd, is the annual Blues & Bar-B-Que festival at the Old Mill Museum and Cafe.  I’ve always had a scheduling conflict with this event so have never made it.  I’m hoping to attend this year.

The following weekend, November 10th and 11th is the annual Old Homosassa Seafood and Art Festival.  This is a hugely popular event.  Traffic backs up for miles.  If we are in town, we ride our bikes down, enjoy some seafood and check out the art.

Maybe we’ll see you there!
