Or
We Went Past the Water Tower!
Off to Leesburg to see the Florida State Revenue Office. One of several permits needed to run an event here in Citrus County. There are numerous hurdles to leap but this is the only one that we have to actually make a visit to an out of county office.
Or so we thought.
We’ve done this trip many times. Annually for the Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival. First time for the Mullet Toss.
And the office was closed. Ha! All these years we had to visit in person. Now, due to COVID-19, all that business is taken care of through email. Why didn’t we call? Because our state is not shut down and we just assumed……
Anyhow. We still went on to our favorite café in Wildwood so it was worth the trip!
Located right on 301 with huge trucks whizzing by. Can’t say that Wildwood is a quaint destination. But Miz Kathi’s is perfect.
Full of antique china, vintage decor, milk glass, cake plates and Southern witticism.
This is Yankee Tea. Because it is Unsweetened.
While it looks like a place for the ladies, the portions are huge. Not a dainty tea cake in the house.
Onion rings on top of meatloaf on top of smashed potatoes on top of bread with a side of Cajun fries. Terry was ecstatic to get real beef in a meatloaf!
I had a tuna croissant with a side of mac ‘n cheez. Obviously not a diet day!
The place is PACKED! The servers are FAST! (And masked as were all the customers when they came in.) You usually can’t get a table without a reservation. (By the way, there were three men in the café but being a chick place doesn’t bother Terry!)
There’s also a Miz Kathi’s Sweetery right next door in case you get turned away without a reservation.
Highly recommend. We have sent many friends there and they have never been disappointed!
Excited to be out and about again!
