Indian Rocks Beach

Indian Rocks Beach

Went to visit a friend at Indian Rocks Beach last week.  It was VERY COLD and windy.  But I had my wooly hat, scarf, and mittens, so I was prepared.

lunch
My friend, Angela, and me. We had some shrimp and beer. Sitting in the sun and out of the wind. Perfect!

Marker 48 Brewing

menu of beer

Thanks to my niece Michelle, her husband Jon, and son William, we’ve been introduced to a new fun place that’s only about half an hour away.

Marker 48 Brewing

Just head south on US-19 and hang a left on Highway 50.  The brewery is in the area of Highpoint.

Although I drink a bunch of beer and every different kind, I really don’t know one from the other, so I’m just going to post a ton of photos from our visit.

Fortunately for us, Terry doesn’t like beer so we could have fun and he could safely drive us!

Jes liked it. Could my daughter be old enough to drink beer?

My beer. Well, the first one.

The bar. It’s got a chilled panel down the center. So your beer won’t get warm while you take snaps of it for FB.
See? I think Andrew's doing FB or instagram of that beer!

dogs
The place is dog-friendly. Several pooches came through while we were there.
There's an outdoor area for you to enjoy your brew. Or play with your dog. It was REALLY hot out there so we stayed inside and enjoyed the cool AC.

Christmas in Perfect
Michelle, she doesn’t usually drink beer but she found a brew that was very yummy.

Jon. I’m not sure what brew he was drinking but it made his tongue stick out.
the whole gang
The whole gang. Eating. They don’t serve food but you are welcome to buy some from the BBQ trailer right outside the door or order pizza from a local place. Which is what we did. Somehow I didn’t get a photo of William, but that’s his back. The place is not only dog-friendly, but kid-friendly, too!
toilet
One last photo. Yes, they also recycle.

Big Holiday Weekend in Old Homosassa

terry and Santa

It’s been HOT here.  Yeah, we’ve been running the AC.  Up until this Friday when Winter suddenly made an appearance.  Just briefly, but long enough to make it feel a bit Christmasy and to flip over to the heat setting on the heat pump.  The chilly weather was perfect for all the holiday festivities.  And I got to pull out my Christmas sweatshirt!

The fun all started with the Homosassa Civic Club’ Annual Christmas Party on Friday night.  Turkey, ham, and potluck sidedishes.  Yum.

The golf cart Christmas parade made a special stop to say hi.  Didn’t get any snaps but I did get some fun shots of the gift exchange.

Fluffy was the most wanted item.  Roger Cullen did not want to give the stuffed cat up.  It had many different owners but went home with Joe.

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Saturday afternoon the Homosassa Civic Club hosted the Children’s Christmas Outreach.

Special Guest, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Wait a minute, that’s not a Homosassa kid!

Santa and his wife were the main event but there were also hot dogs, lots of cookies and cupcakes, and crafts.

Helpers were ready to create fancy-schmancy Christmas Stockings.

Then we moved on to Watsons Art Gallery Christmas party.

Chef Burt gave Dylan and Jack bikes and helmets. It was so fun to see how excited the boys were.

Jack’s usually quiet but he was grinning from ear to ear with his gifts. Both boys took off on their new bikes.  Dylan ran into a large art piece and Jack explained how exactly brakes worked.

Next party….

The boat parade.  Took lots of snaps but was using my iPhone.  What was I thinking?

There were a bunch of boats this year!

We had one more holiday event on Sunday but I’ll tell you about that tomorrow!
