2021 Homosassa Mullet Toss

It was Saturday! Although I was the photographer and I took a LOT of pics, I’m only going to post what I think represents that day.

First, here is the group that was still there at the end of the day. We probably had double this amount of volunteers. The people in our community are amazing and whenever Terry puts out a call for help, they come. Awesome.

Next, this is the kid winner. I made the softie mullet. Gil Watson made all the other trophies. That smile says it all!

And here is the winner of the women’s division, Shelly Smith. (The owner of Shelly’s Seafood.) She was SO excited that she won. She ran to the stage amidst much clapping and cheering.

The event was a HUGE success. The weather was perfect, and thanks to the CDC saying vaccinated people can go with out masks, there was great attendance.

Next event–Florida Cracker Fireworks on June 26. There will be artists, crafters, and vendors at the Old Homosassa Heritage Park. The plan is to have all of Old Homosassa included. Parking will be available at the Homosassa Civic Club and visitors can walk between all of the venues.

I’ll post more of my daily pics tomorrow.
