Friday Meanderings

As I’m writing this, there is a terrific thunderstorm whipping our little part of paradise. So far the power is on but if it goes out the cable goes too. And quite often the cable goes out even when the power is on. No cable. No internet. No wifi. Yikes!

Anyhow, I will continue writing………

Another busy week of not going anywhere or doing anything. But still busy.

Actually I had to go to the eye doctor on Monday which means lunch on the way home. Stopped at Breakfast Station by Sugarmill Woods. I haven’t been there in a few years. Too many good places closer to home but there it was and we were driving by and we were hungry. The place was pretty empty considering it was lunch time. The servers wore face masks–a good thing. We ordered two different versions of quesadillas and sodas. $25 plus tip. The sodas were $2.29 each. The quesadillas were very salty and not all that great. I could have went to Old Homosassa and had really good seafood for less than that. Don’t go past the watertower!

Like last Friday we went to Wild Sassa and had the Shrimpy Burger. Yum! (for less then that lunch at the Breakfast Station)

Wild Sassa

And we had a great view!

Old HOmosassa Heritage Park

The Old Homosassa Heritage Park has picnic tables now! The one we sat at was a little wonky–needs some rebuilding. And bring your own rags to clean them off with. Don’t have park staff yet! (or restrooms)

The Homosassa Civic Club is having their monthly meeting at the park on Monday, September 14th. 6 pm. If the weather is good! The future museum will be open for a quick look. Nothing in there yet and it needs lots of remodeling but it’s always fun to see the before and be part of the after!

We’ve heard good things about the pizza at the Florida Cracker Monkey Bar but haven’t tried it yet. We checked on FB and it says they don’t start making pizza until 4 pm. Anyone know if that’s true? Just asking because it would be easier if you told me then having me crutch my way in.

DOG OF THE WEEK

Katie! Such a sweet dog! Love spending time with her! We were at the park last Friday evening and Katie’s parents brought her by to visit me.

Then Katie had a feeling…..thunderstorm coming right up. Time to drive that golf cart home!

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day holiday. We stayed right at home. I still can’t get on the boat but I sure do want to be out there on the water. Think I might need Terry to rig up some kind of hoist!

Have a great weekend!

Kathy
